• You need urgent medical help but it’s not life-threatening
• Your GP surgery is closed and you need advice
• You’re unsure which service you need

When to call 999
Call 999 in a life-threatening emergency, including:
• Major accidents or serious trauma
• Severe breathlessness
• Heavy or uncontrollable bleeding
• Loss of consciousness
• Suspected heart attack or stroke
If you need help in a life-threatening emergency call 999 immediately.
