Here you can learn how to acquire an appointment & the different types of appointments we offer.

The PATCHS messaging service is for non-urgent medical enquiries and prescription requests only. If your query is urgent, please contact the practice during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:30pm) or use NHS 111 Online or call 111 when the practice is closed. For medical emergencies, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E department.

Urgent Appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

• Use our Online Service, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm. We will respond asap during opening times
• Phone us on 01484 440840, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm
• Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine Appointments

To request a routine appointment in the next 7 days:

• Use our Online Service, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:30pm. We will respond asap during opening times
• Phone us on 01484 440840, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm
• Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm
• Use your NHS account (through the NHS Website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination

Cancel Or Change An Appointment

To cancel your appointment:

• Use your NHS account (through the NHS Website or NHS App)
• Using the GP Online System
• Phone us on 01484 440840, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:30pm
• Reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message

Types Of Appointments Available

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

• By phone
• Face to face at the surgery
• On a video call
• By text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Help While We're Closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 Online or call 111.

NHS 111 Online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Get Help With Your Appointment

Please tell us:

• If there is a specific doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional you would prefer to see
• If you would prefer your consultation to be by phone, face-to-face, video call, text, or email
• If you need an interpreter
• If you have any other access or communication needs

Request Home Visit

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we can arrange a home visit. A member of the team will phone you first to understand your needs.

To request a home visit, please call the practice on 01484 440840 as early as possible.

Extended Access Appointments

The Practice can arrange Extended Access appointments between 6:30pm and 8:30pm on weekdays, and between 9:00am and 5:00pm on weekends at locations across Huddersfield.

These appointments are for acute issues only and are available to patients registered with GP practices across Huddersfield.
